Education: Empowering Children and Youth for a Better Future
Child Education
At HS Charitable Trust, we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our child education initiatives focus on early childhood development, especially for children from underserved communities. Through centers like Balghars and Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS), we offer safe, nurturing environments where children build basic skills in literacy and numeracy. We combine structured learning with fun, interactive activities like storytelling, art, music, games, and cultural celebrations to make education enjoyable and meaningful. Alongside academics, we provide nutritional support, track children's growth and development, and regularly engage parents through meetings and workshops to ensure holistic progress..
Scholarship
At HS Charitable Trust, we understand that financial barriers often stand between children and their dreams. Scholarships play a crucial role in making education more inclusive by helping children from marginalized communities stay in school and pursue higher studies without the weight of financial stress. Our need-based and merit-based scholarship programs are designed to support students who show potential but are at risk of dropping out due to economic challenges. By working closely with families, schools, and donors, we identify deserving students and connect them with the right support.
School Retention
Staying in school is key to a brighter future—it builds strong foundations for learning, improves career opportunities, and empowers children to actively participate in society. Education boosts a child’s confidence, social skills, and long-term stability, often helping families break the cycle of poverty. Yet, many children from low-income communities face obstacles like financial stress, lack of support, and unfavorable home environments, which lead to early school dropouts.
At HS Charitable Trust, we work to remove these barriers by creating safe, engaging, and supportive learning spaces through our Balghars and Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS). These centers focus on foundational learning in literacy and numeracy, while also offering nutritious meals, health check-ups, and interactive activities such as storytelling, art, music, and play.
Child Nutrition
At HS Charitable Trust, we believe that good nutrition is essential for a child’s growth, learning, and overall well-being. That’s why we integrate nutritional support into our education programs at Balghars and Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS)—providing healthy, balanced meals along with regular health check-ups. This approach ensures that children from underserved communities get the nutrients they need for proper physical development and improved brain function, helping them stay focused and active in the classroom. When children are healthy, they’re more likely to learn better, attend school regularly, and engage fully in educational activities.
Overview
Empowering Young Minds Through Education | Holistic Learning Initiatives
At our trust, we believe that education is the strongest tool to bring lasting change and equal opportunities for every child. Our learning programs support children from early years through their teenage stages, with a focus on joyful, inclusive, and engaging education—especially for children from underprivileged backgrounds.
We run early childhood centers for children aged 3 to 5, offering a nurturing environment with play-based learning, healthy nutrition, and regular development check-ups. These centers also help children from migrant families smoothly join regular schools.
For older children, particularly girls aged 10 to 13, we provide a STEM-focused program that sparks interest in science, technology, engineering, and math through fun, hands-on learning experiences that boost confidence and academic skills.

hscharitabletrust's Balghars
Children living in under-resourced communities often begin life at a disadvantage, facing developmental delays due to a lack of access to quality early education, health care, and nutrition. To bridge this gap, our Early Learning Centers provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 5. Through structured play, interactive learning, and regular health checkups, we ensure that children are not only school-ready but also developmentally healthy and socially confident. These centers operate in urban slum areas, supporting families in creating a strong educational foundation for their children before they transition into formal schooling.
About the Program
Our Early Learning Program (Balghars) is a community-based pre-school initiative focused on the overall development of young children from marginalized backgrounds. Designed by child development specialists, the curriculum emphasizes cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth through engaging, play-based activities. Currently operating 11 centers across urban slum areas, the program supports over 640 children, ensuring they are developmentally prepared for formal schooling. What sets the program apart is its holistic approach — combining early learning, health monitoring, nutrition, and parent engagement. Regular home visits, community events, and strong family involvement create a nurturing environment around each child. While most of the funding is provided by the organization, a small parental contribution encourages shared ownership and long-term sustainability. This integrated model helps address not just educational gaps, but also the foundational health and well-being of children in their most critical early years.

STEM Program
In marginalized communities, adolescent girls—particularly those between the ages of 10 and 13—often have limited access to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Barriers such as early school dropout, gender bias, and digital exclusion prevent them from exploring and excelling in these critical fields. To bridge this gap, our STEM Learning Initiative was launched to equip both school-going and out-of-school girls with foundational knowledge, hands-on experience, and the confidence to envision futures in science and technology-related careers. The program is designed to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity through interactive workshops, coding basics, robotics, and practical experiments. It aims to spark long-term interest in STEM and open pathways to higher education and meaningful employment in modern industries.
About the Program
Our STEM Education Program offers structured, hands-on learning in science and technology for adolescent girls aged 10 to 13, with a strong focus on building problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. Using interactive, activity-based methods, the program is led by trained facilitators who hold monthly planning sessions and quarterly progress reviews to maintain quality and track learning outcomes. The initiative goes beyond just academic subjects. It integrates life skills training, computer literacy, menstrual health education, and family counseling sessions, providing a holistic learning experience that addresses the real-life challenges faced by young girls in underserved communities. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program rapidly transitioned to online learning modules and virtual sessions, ensuring continued education and engagement even during periods of school closures and restricted mobility.

Chid Friendly Spaces
Children of migrant construction workers often face highly unstable living conditions, with little to no access to safe environments or early childhood education. As their parents work long hours in physically demanding jobs and often lack childcare facilities, these young children are left vulnerable to risks such as child labour, lack of education, poor health, and malnutrition. Impact of the Program: Through this initiative, HS Charitable Trust has made a meaningful difference in the lives of many vulnerable children: 812 children have been supported through our development spaces across various project sites. Out of 42 children identified with malnutrition, 21 have shown significant recovery thanks to sustained nutritional support, regular health check-ups, and dedicated follow-up. Children are now engaged in age-appropriate learning activities, receiving informal education that prepares them for formal schooling.
